We are among the 100 Best NGOs of 2023

The Best NGOs Award has announced the 100 winning Brazilian third sector organizations for 2023, and Associação pela Propriedade Comunitária, which runs FICA and FUA, is among them. The list, which is now available on the premiomelhores.org website, shows the names of the organizations recognized for their good practices in areas such as governance, transparency, communication and funding. This is the seventh edition of the Award, organized by the Instituto O Mundo que Queremos (IOMQQ) and the Instituto Doar, sponsored by Ambev VOA and supported by Instituto Humanize, Prosas and Toyota do Brasil.

"When we created Melhores, our aim was to encourage a culture of giving in Brazil. Over the years, it has become something bigger than that. Today, we are certain that being on the Best list can change the history of an organization," says Cássia Christe, director of IOMQQ. "The Best NGOs recognizes organizations committed to doing good in all ways, for all audiences, in all causes. When you hear the word 'NGO', you already understand that there is a group of people there who have created some non-profit association for the common good. That's the beauty of society working to solve problems," adds Alexandre Mansur, IOMQQ's project director.

The highlights in the special categories will be revealed during the official awards ceremony, scheduled to take place in December 2023. In addition to the top 100, awards will be given to the best NGOs by state, cause, the ten best small NGOs, the best among them and the Best NGO of the Year. "It's a well-established event, but every year we like to bring surprises. This year, at the live ceremony, we're going to bring something new," says Marcelo Estraviz, director of the Instituto Doar.

The Prize

Since 2017, the Best NGOs Award has recognized the fundamental work done by non-governmental institutions in Brazil and also acts as a beacon to guide donations. In addition, it encourages good practices and also contributes to improving the management of all participants, including those who are not awarded, who also receive detailed feedback from the evaluation.
